Department/Program Overview:

North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant university and enrolls over 10,000 students in 85 BS, 49 MS and 5 Ph. D. degree programs. The College of Engineering, with over 1,800 students, includes ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Geomatics, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as an accredited BS program in Computer Science. The College of Engineering offers Masters Degree programs in Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Interdisciplinary Computational Science and Engineering. The University offers Ph.D. programs in Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, Interdisciplinary Energy and Environmental Systems, and Leadership Studies. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for three tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in the areas of: electro-mechanics, mechatronics, controls, micro-fluidics, energy engineering, aerodynamics and aero-elasticity. The successful candidates will develop and grow dynamic extramurally funded research programs in the areas of expertise, and actively participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, advisement and mentoring.

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Applicants should have a strong record of graduate work in the area of interest. They should also have a record of academic achievement in the classroom and research; ability to work collaboratively and to communicate effectively, and a commitment to diversity. Applicants with significant experience and demonstrated abilities in grantsmanship and scholarly publications may be considered at the Associate Professor rank. Successful candidates are expected to obtain the PE License as part of their professional development
