Title: Director of Honors Program

Department/Program Overview:

The Honors Program is designed to offer highly talented students a chance to step beyond the norm and, no matter what their major, get the best education A&T has to offer. Every aspect of the Honors Program provides special opportunities for qualified students to grow intellectually through contact with a community of Honors students and scholars.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the University Honors Program Director include supervising the Program’s budgetary expenditures and activities of its staff; developing the Honors academic program annually; revising the long range plan; ensuring effective Program recruitment and retention; promoting campus familiarity with and support of the Honors Program; serving as the Program liaison with other relevant campus offices and programs; chairing the University Honors Council and coordinating its activities; sponsoring special programs and co-curricular opportunities that provide students in the Program with an enriched academic experience; and providing a range of personal services directly to students in the Program.

 

Qualifications:
Ph.D., publications, a record of successful grantsmanship, evidence of exemplary teaching, and substantial administrative experience in higher education working directly with students.
