Department/Program Overview:
The Department of Political Science is seeking applicants for a 9-month,
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant
or Associate Professor in Criminal Justice.
The Department of Political Science
has a combined enrollment in political science
and criminal justice of over 500 majors with
approximately 200 of these majors being
political science majors. The Department
is one of the fastest growing departments at the
university, with an emphasis on
interdisciplinary research and preparation of
undergraduates for graduate or professional
school, and careers.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Teach Criminal Justice Courses including
research methods. Additional duties will
include academic advising, maintaining an
active, extramurally funded research program in
the area of specialty and publication in
refereed journals, and service to the
department, college, university and community.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a
related field with a specialized research
concentration in criminal justice. Knowledge of SPSS or SAS, course management
tools such as Blackboard or WEBCT are desired.
Applicants with a working knowledge of GIS and CATI are strongly encouraged to apply.
