Title: Assistant or Associate Professor, TV/Radio and Converged Media

Dept: Journalism and Mass Communication

Department/Program Overview:
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication seeks specialists in TV/Radio and Converged Media for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Department has more than 400 enrolled majors and 11 tenure-track faculty. it is a growing program with a highly active faculty, and is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach courses in TV/Radio and Converged Media Journalism as well as other conceptual courses in journalism and mass communication; coordinate the Electronic Media and Journalism concentration, internships, and/or other student experiences; undertake initiatives in teaching, research, production, and/or criticism in specialty; conduct research that results in peer-reviewed publications; advise students; provide service to department, college, university, professional, and general communities; contribute to the incorporation of converged media studies into the curriculum.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mass Communication or comparable field with specialty in Radio/TV and/or Converged-media Journalism. Experience in teaching at the specialty at the college/university level is highly desirable.
