Title: Assistant Professor, Research Methodologies
Dept: Political Science and Criminal Justice

Department/Program Overview:

The Department of Political Science is seeking applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in political science research methodologies.

 

The Department of Political Science has a combined enrollment in political science and criminal justice of over 500 majors with approximately 200 of these majors being political science majors.  The Department is one of the fastest growing departments at the university, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and preparation of undergraduates for graduate or professional school, and careers.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach research methods courses, American government and politics, as well as public administration and public policy, conduct student advisement, produce peer-reviewed, professional publications, and provide service to the department, university and community.

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science, with research methods as a subfield, and able to teach both quantitative and qualitative methods in political science.   Knowledge of SPSS or SAS, course management tools such as Blackboard or WEBCT are helpful. Applicants with a working knowledge of GIS and CATI are strongly encouraged to apply.
