Department/Program Overview:
The Department of Family And
Consumer Sciences is one of four academic
departments within the School of Agriculture and
Environmental Sciences. Family and Consumer
Sciences offers Bachelor of Science degrees in
four program areas with the following six
distinct specialty emphases: Child Development
and Family Studies (Non-Licensure), Child
Development Early Education and Family Studies
(Birth-Kindergarten Licensure), Family and
Consumer Sciences Education, Fashion
Merchandising and Design, Food and Nutritional
Sciences (Dietetics), and Food and Nutritional
Sciences (Food Science). The Department offers a
Master of Science degree in one program area,
Food and Nutritional Science. Additionally, the
Department offers the Master of Arts in Teaching
in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.
Faculty members are actively engaged in research
that contributes to the body of knowledge in the
areas of nutrition, food science, housing,
apparel, textiles and family issues.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist in the execution of a research project
designed to determine the effectiveness of
parent education for parents mandated or
referred by the court for parent training;
manage day-to-day operations of the research
project; prepare project-related forms and
reports; provide ongoing data management and
support; establish and maintain an accurate
reporting system (designing and organizing
information storage and retrieval; assist
Principal investigator (PI) and Co-principal
investigator (Co-PI) in compliance of research
protocol; and assist PI and Co-PI with the
monitoring of fiscal and supply management.
Qualifications:
M.S./M.A./M.ED. (required) or
post-doctorate (desired) in Child and Family
Development.
