Overview
North Carolina Agricultural and
Technical State University is a
large, complex and exciting
University. There are numerous
moving parts to the university.
Most staff members spend the
majority of their time working
with and interacting with the
same staff and faculty members
day after day within the same
building. As a result, most
university staff is unaware and
unconnected with what happens
campus-wide.
The more staff knows about the
inner workings of the
university, the more likely they
are to take ownership of its
mission. Everyone from
administrators to computer
consultants to groundskeepers to
departmental secretaries should
be exposed to the big picture.
Every North Carolina A&T
employee should be equipped to
explain the history of the
university, the basics of the
university’s core academic
programs, how the budget is
created, and what goes on inside
each of our 98 buildings. |
Program Objectives...
To provide staff an opportunity to learn
about all of the divisions within the
University;
To provide interesting and fun
professional development opportunities
to staff;
To promote a better understanding by
staff as to the value of their role
within the University and their
contribution toward our mission of
"developing educated persons"; and
To foster increased communication across
departments, divisions, and campuses by
creating a bond among the members of
each class.
